Connor's Dream Team
Welcome to the TEAM

A funny thing (although not funny at the time) happened this spring 2007 while Connor was in the First Grade at St. Michael School.
Connor had found a black permanent marker on the floor during his art class one day. He decided to pick the marker up and put it in his pocket so that he could return the marker to the art teacher at the end of class. Well, wouldn't you know that Connor forgot to return the marker to the art teacher at the end of class. Connor loved to write. He would write in his journal, he would write notes to his Mom & Dad, he would write on the driveway, he would even write on his toys. So "writing" to Connor was a simple and natural thing to do and it allowed him to express his feelings.
After art class Connor went out to recess with the rest of his classmates. He still had the permanent magic marker in his pocket. It was during recess that Connor must have conjured up what he thought was a pretty innocent yet sincere thing to do. He was going to "write" something to a particular young lady that he admired. Had Connor decided to "write something" to this young lady on a piece of paper then everything would have been fine & probably gone unnoticed. However, Connor was a unique sort of boy with some unique ideas so he decided to write on a white parking curb on the playground parking lot. Connor wrote the following:
I LOVE YOU, Love, Connor Ciesielski
Writing on school property, albeit a parking curb was not right, but you can get a sense for the totally innocent thought process of a 7 year old boy who not only wanted to tell a young lady how he felt by writing her a note but he also wants her to be sure who wrote it.
As you can imagine Connor was rushed to Miss Reidy's office for disciplinary action of which he was taken outside by Miss. Reidy with a can of white paint & a paint brush and asked to paint over what he had written, which of course he did.
However there's a funny thing about permanent marker....it's permanent. When Connor was sick in the hospital somebody had noticed that Connor's curb writing had started to bleed through the paint and was visible (Connor would have loved this).
The St. Michael School is honoring Connor and his curb. They have cut the curb clean away from the parking lot and it will be on display inside of the school. Connor had a lot of love inside of him. He was also a little stubborn and if he thought strongly about something specifically when it dealt with feelings & emotions he had the conviction to follow through. We are glad he followed through and told that young lady - in Connor's unique way, how he felt about her.
Connor we miss you so much.
