St Michael School Playground Dedication

The dedication was November 16th at 2:00pm.

(Pictures below)

We are deeply honored that St. Michael School has offered to dedicate the school playground in Connor's memory.  He loved attending St. Michael School and he especially enjoyed his time playing with his brother and all of his friends on the playground.  As parents we are confident that Connor would be extremely proud and humbled to know that his school has chosen to remember him in this way.

We can never thank the St. Michael School enough for all that they have done during this extremely difficult time in our lives.  Knowing that Connor will be a part of a place that he enjoyed so very much is heartwarming...thank you!

The sign has been erected on the playground.  A very special thank you to the Dads that helped put it up.

Thank you to Father Keyes, Father Jerry and Father John for honoring our son and a SPECIAL THANK YOU to Sue Reidy and Sue Rogge for organizing and orchestrating a beautiful and touching ceremony.  You are amazing!

We also appreciate the entire school (faculty, students and parents) for attending the ceremony and remembering Connor - even in the wind and cold weather.

During the ceremony Sue Rogge read a very emotional list of ways that Connor's second grade classmates remember him.  That list is below...

Memories of Our Special Friend

Connor loved God and going to church

He loved learning

He made me happy

I liked talking to him in the bus line

He was my special friend and nice to everyone

He was really, really funny

He was good at sports

He loved to play 500 at recess

He was always honest

He was always respectful

He was smatrt and good at school

He was helpful and nice

He loved read alouds, especially dinosaur books

He was fun to eat lunch with

He was nice to everyone he met

He was nice to invite me to his birthday party

He would never hurt anyone

He gave chocolate bunnies to sick children in the hospital

He picked up my necklace when I dropped it

His parents were nice when In played at his house

He was a good Principal for the Day

He'd help kids who got hurt at recess

He'd cheer me up when I was sad

He'd stand up for me when someone was being mean to me

He'd never say bad things about people

He sent me notes

We loved the bracelets his parents gave us

The following is a Friendship Poem that the second grade learned and recited to Connor

Friends are forever,

they should always be together.

Friends are forever,

they should never part.

Friends are forever,

in each other's heart.

GOD BLESS CONNOR!

Thank you Second Grader's...Connor loved you all.  He always asked about each of you while he was in the hospital.  If he had his way (and our's) he would have come home from the hospital, enjoyed his summer and returned to school - sitting right next to you in class, at recess and at lunch.  He fought very hard.  He did not want to leave.

Remember Connor and he will always be with you.  You may not see him but he will bring you strength.
